Park details, entrance-fee information, activities, things to do, and photographs for National Park Service units come from the NPS Data API. Content produced by the National Park Service is generally in the public domain; photo credits are shown on each image. Passlands is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NPS.

Recreation.gov (RIDB)

Recreation-area details for the Forest Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers come from the Recreation Information Database (RIDB). Data Source: Recreation.gov.

Maps and map tiles are © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Mapping library: Leaflet.

Wikimedia Commons

Where a site has no government photo, we show a freely-licensed image from Wikimedia Commons only when it clearly matches the site. Each image carries its author and license (public domain or a Creative Commons license) in the credit shown on the photo. Sites without a suitable free image use a generated placeholder.

Typefaces

Big Shoulders Display and Barlow are open-source typefaces available under the SIL Open Font License.

If you believe a credit or license is shown incorrectly, please let us know and we’ll correct it. See also our Terms, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer.
